Community Development
NEFRC provides assistance to area local governments in planning tasks and policy work, keeps apprised of trends and best practices in the planning realm and supports policy related Boards and committees.
Resiliency
The NEFRC began efforts to engage the issue of sea-level rise and resiliency in 2014 with recommendations brought forward by its Public Private Regional Resiliency (P2R2) Committee. Since then, new developments from the NEFRC continue to push regional conversations about resilience forward.
Healthcare Coalition
The NEFRC, through a contract with the Florida Department of Health, manages the Healthcare Coalition program for 18 counties in north Florida. Through planning, training, equipping and exercising, the Healthcare Coalitions are building a stronger, regional healthcare system.
Economic Development
The NEFRC works on a broad range of economic development priorities — ranging from Northeast Florida’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) to Regional Tourism and Fiscal Impact Modeling. The NEFRC is the dedicated Economic Development District for the Economic Development Administration (EDA), providing technical assistance for the development of federal grant applications. The NEFRC also owns licensing for REMI PI+ economic modeling software.
Emergency Preparedness
NEFRC provides a hosts of emergency preparedness services for the public, private and government sectors. This includes but is not limited to the areas of natural hazard planning, hazardous materials and wastes, and training and exercise services.
